Snconnector provides two different models of data storage. The most common model and the one which the platform was designed for is that of BYOS (bring your own storage).
1. BYOS (Bring your own storage) –Through this offering, customers can bring its own storage/server from where files need to pick. it provides customers the assurance and ability to have full control and visibility of their data at rest. This ensures customers can apply their own data retention, backup, and security policies to the data at rest and apply other third-party solutions (such as anti-virus) to the data without being locked in with snconnector as a solution. As server is managed and provided by customer, connector cost is less in this mode.
No matter which mode you are in running with, no changes or agent installation is done by snconnector on any of servers for interaction. In both the mode, snconnector is act like as client which requires basic connection for its job.
Any connector needs two servers to successfully execute integration –
Storage server is kind of front face server. Here files are stored or somehow bring on this server by client, integration or by other means. SFTP, SCP and SSH protocols are enabled on this server. This server details are shared with client, and they are also free to share it with vendor or with public for sending and receiving files.Different SFTP client like Wincsp , filezilla can be used for file operation.
Application server is kind of backend server where snconnector application runs . it interacts with “front face” server for files. Files are somethimes fetched on this server for processes and once processing is done, deleted as per configuration. This server only allow connection from “front face” server and no direct connection is provided to this server to anyone. If not required then it process file from “front face” server directly without fetching on this server.
Both servers interact each other and provide integration service to customer. For every client – these servers are deployed which separate infrastructure and data completely separate from other client. There is no sharing of data or servers between client/users .
Both the servers are on cloud servers and best possible security are in place to.
2. Service mode –
This is full fledged snconnector offering in which, “front face/file storage” and “back end ” both provided and managed by snconnector team.
